PADEREWSKI REMIXED - MUPA BUDAPEST
The largest synced Brightsign Player video scenario I have programmed and installed so far, a historical video installation about the Polish composer PADEREWSKI, for the MUPA Concert Hall in Budapest – featuring 60 retro Sony Cube CRT Monitors and 60 Brightsigns acting as one.
I designed the content creation strategy, all scaled working templates, physical structural design, electrical power plan, and the multi-part video encoding processes needed to make this work practically, and custom programmed all x60 Brightsigns, with enhanced sync’ing capabilities. The x48 big tv wall, despite each being PAL format reached a pixel resolution in excess of 2 x 4k in bespoke 16:11 formats each side and despite varied monitor physical sizes video content maintains relative scale to each other, and respects the monitors bevels gaps when stretched across multiple TV’s.
Working with The Block – commissioned by Yeast Culture and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and premiered at Budapest’s Müpa concert hall and art gallery in September 2018. Full video of the work can be seen here.
